Lee van der Voo


Based in Portland, Ore., Lee has reported on government, social issues, energy and the environment for more than a dozen years. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, High Country News, Portland Monthly Magazine, and in online versions of The Atlantic, Slate.com, CNN, USA Today, The Chicago Tribune and The Boston Globe. Lee won national prizes from the Society of Environmental Journalists in 2006 and Investigative Reporters and Editors in 2009. She received special recognition for Oregon’s top reporting prize, the Bruce Baer Award, three times in five years, including the first such prize for a nonprofit organization for her work for InvestigateWest.
